Being informed about credit, debt, and how to choose the best agency to help you is the first step in living debt free!   Their are many agencies BUT they are not equal in services and comittment they provide!

At Debt Counseling Corporation we pride ourselves on our service to our clients and hope that you do compare us to other agencies.  We are comfortable with our levels of expertise and will willingly answer any questions you may have.

To determine if the potential credit counseling agency is reputable:

	Non-profit. Look for a credit counseling agency that is non-profit.
	Compare fees.  Fees will vary by agency and by state.
	Licensed and bonded.  Any agency that you are considering should be licensed and bonded.
	Length of time in business.  You should look for an agency with at least 5 years in business.
	Accredited.  Check to be sure that the agency is accreded with the International Standards Organization (ISO) or by the Council on Accreditation  (COA)
	Free Education. Check to see if the agency has one or more programs to provide on-going support and information to help you get and stay debt free
	Trade Associations.  Look to see if the agency you are considering is a member in good standing with at least one trade associations.
	One on One Counseling.  Does the agency have a program or process so you can be assured of receiving the help you need.
	Fees.  Look for an agency that offers reasonable fees. Compare pricing.  And check to see if they will waive fees if you can't afford it.
	Certified Counselors.  Be sure that the agency has certified counselors on staff.
	ISO Certified.  Earning accreditation from the BSI ISO 9001:2000 series of quality management standards, signifies extraordinary commitment to customer care and consumer satisfaction as well as an ongoing adherence to world class quality standards.
	Interest Rates.  Interest rates can also vary from agency to agency.  Be sure to ask what the rate is at any agency you're considering.
	Budget. Make sure that you will receive a written budget after your consultation session.
